STEP 4
Fill your application form: recommendations
- Download and use the application form provided by the concerned Authority (see below).
- If no form is provided use the generic application form that I prepared (Word format) and follow the instructions there.
- State clearly if you intend to do a prospection or if you focus on concrete species.
- Give yourself some margin for collecting (avoid exact fixed dates).
- If you are a private collector include a reference from an official institution (university, museum, etc.)
- Be aware that if you have not complied with conditions included in previous permits, you will probably not get a new permit.
- Before sending the formulary, use the contact-email to seek clarification if you have any doubts.
- Send your application a few weeks (better a month) in advance.
- Do not forget to sign the application form before sending. Digital signatures should also work.
- If you plan to work on several islands or in national parks you may write to the Biodiversity Service of the Canarian Government instead of to each of the Island Councils /National Park Authorities. They will process the set of permits. Allow for some extra time.
